Hello, SWG Participants! Kim Stravers from MLTPA here:

This Sunday, August 30, MLTPA is putting together two site visits to help review your draft summer proposal out in the field. This will be a chance to visit locations where projects from the SWG might be implemented, and a great opportunity for SWG participants to prep for the next SWG meeting on Thursday, September 3.

These two site reviews will not be formal field trips; rather, the goal is to get you as familiar as possible with what the current summer proposal looks like out on the ground. Any further development of the narrative and rationales for the summer proposal will happen at the next regular SWG meeting.

Meeting Times and Locations:

SITE REVIEW #1: 10:00 a.m., Mammoth Creek Park West

SITE REVIEW #2: 2:00 p.m., Twin Lakes parking lot (the scenic pullout right off of Lake Mary Road)

MLTPA will have copies of the summer narrative notes as well as the summer maps from the breakout groups and will provide guide/tour services to all who show up.

See you Sunday!

–Team MLTPA

Hello everybody, John Wentworth here. Steve has had a personal situation come up and he won’t be able to lead the the two hikes on Friday and Saturday Morning. We are taking a rain check for now and hope to be getting out into the field next week when we have a better idea of Steves circumstances. Please feel free to sign up in any event, and if Steve can’t make it, John Wentworth and other SWGers will – thanks!

Hello, all!

Greg Norby, General Manager of Mammoth Community Water District, has offered to lead a field trip in the Mammoth Meadows area for Sherwins Working Group members to discuss MCWD existing and planned future water-supply facilities and how these may be integrated with the long-term trails/recreational management plans.

There are two options for this trip. Please respond to confirm which of the following is preferable:
This Wednesday, July 22, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
This Thursday, July 24, 8 a.m to 9 a.m.

We apologize for the short notice.

Meeting location:
Due to parking constraints at the Tamarack Street access point, meet at the edge of the gravel pit on Sherwin Creek Road, then drive in to the meadows area behind Snowcreek V to the end of the dirt road. If number of participants allows, we’ll meet at the end of Tamarack Street by MCWD.

To confirm interest and preferred day/time, contact Greg directly: GNorby@mcwd.dst.ca.us or 934-2593 (work).

Thanks!
